Our Story.

Where and when did you first meet?

We first met in high school in September 2015 and started dating in November 2017.

What was your first impression of each other?

Peici: Matthew seemed serious and quiet at first, but when he did talk, he was either really funny or unexpectedly deep.

Matthew: Peici was chatty, bubbly, and easy to talk to. She was always making people laugh with her jokes.

What is one thing you have learned from each other?

Peici: Matthew has taught me to set goals and stay focused on the things I truly want to achieve.

Matthew: Peici has taught me to be more light-hearted and to embrace different possibilities in life.

What's your favorite trip together?

Our favorite trip together was Zermatt in 2024. One night, we took a quiet path to a lesser-known viewpoint. We sat there looking over the village, talking about how beautiful and special the place felt. That trip was also when Matthew discovered and deepened his passion for skiing.

What's your favorite thing to do in NYC?

Grabbing boba from Fiftylan and wandering around the West Village.

What artists do you listen to when road-tripping?

Jay Chou and Lauv! We love singing together during road trips.

Why did you choose Charleston?

Peici and Matthew first visited Charleston during Peici's graduation trip with her friends and immediately fell in love with how beautiful the city was. A few months later, on Chinese Valentine's Day in 2024, Matthew brought Peici back to Charleston for a trip just the two of them and proposed right before sunset.
